How much does Hunter cost?

The short answer

As of October 2026, Hunter is free for 50 credits a month, then $49 a month for Starter (2,000 credits), $149 for Growth (10,000) and $299 for Scale (25,000). Paying yearly takes the monthly price down to $34, $104 and $209. Every plan allows unlimited team members who share one pool of credits, so three reps pay the same as one. One credit finds one email. Verifying an email costs half a credit.

How we research this: facts come from each vendor’s public pages and named studies, dated where shown; the math is ours and labeled. Vendor prices and limits are as of October 6, 2026.

Per Hunter's FAQ you can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the billing cycle, and you can subscribe for a single month to do one export and then cancel.

How do Hunter credits work?

One pool of credits covers finding and verifying. From Hunter's FAQ:

Action Cost
One email found with Domain Search, Email Finder or Bulk Email Finder 1 credit
Up to 10 emails found with Bulk Domain Search 1 credit
One email verified with Email Verifier or Bulk Email Verifier 0.5 credit
A search that finds nothing, or a verification Hunter can't complete Free
The same search or verification repeated in the same billing period Counted once

Two details save money. You don't pay for misses, so a bad list costs you time, not credits. And credits are counted the same way in the web app, the API, the browser extension and the Google Sheets add-on, so it doesn't matter where your team works.

What does one email cost?

Our math, assuming you use every credit on the plan to find emails.

Plan Monthly billing Billed yearly
Starter $49 ÷ 2,000 = $0.0245 (about 2.5 cents) $408 ÷ 24,000 = $0.017 (1.7 cents)
Growth $149 ÷ 10,000 = $0.0149 (about 1.5 cents) $1,248 ÷ 120,000 = $0.0104 (about 1 cent)
Scale $299 ÷ 25,000 = $0.012 (1.2 cents) $2,508 ÷ 300,000 = $0.0084 (under 1 cent)

A verification costs half of that. Your real cost per usable email runs higher, because you won't use every credit and not every found address is one you'll send to. For how Hunter's cost per email compares with other finders, see how to find someone's work email.

What does it cost for one rep and for three?

It depends on whether you only find emails in Hunter or also send from it.

Our house setup: 4 inboxes per rep, about 30 sends per inbox a day (our guideline), 21 sending days a month and 5 touches per prospect. That's 504 new prospects a month for one rep and 1,512 for three (how we calculate).

Finding emails only. One rep needs 504 credits a month, a quarter of Starter's 2,000. Three reps need 1,512, still inside Starter. Because seats are unlimited, the bill is the same either way:

Setup Plan Monthly billing Billed yearly
1 rep Starter $49 $34
3 reps Starter $49 $34

Sending from Hunter too. Now the limit that matters is connected email accounts, not credits. Starter connects 3. Our one-rep setup uses 4 inboxes, and three reps use 12. The pricing page lists additional email accounts from $10 a month per email account.

Setup What fits Cost on monthly billing (our math)
1 rep, 4 inboxes Starter (3 accounts) + 1 extra account From $59 ($49 + $10)
3 reps, 12 inboxes Growth (10 accounts) + 2 extra accounts From $169 ($149 + $20)
3 reps, 12 inboxes Scale (20 accounts) $299

Compare that with keeping Hunter for finding and sending from a dedicated tool. For three reps, Hunter Starter plus lemlist's Email plan is $49 + $69 = $118 a month, and Hunter Starter plus Smartlead Pro is $49 + $94 = $143. Both come in under $169. For one rep the answer flips: Hunter alone at about $59 beats Hunter Starter plus Smartlead Base at $49 + $39 = $88. Sequencer prices are from each vendor's pricing page, read the same day; see is lemlist worth it and is Smartlead worth it. Mailboxes and domains are extra in every case.

What's not included?

  • Phone numbers. Hunter's pricing page doesn't mention them anywhere. If you call, test a sample before you rely on it, or see how to find a direct phone number.
  • Mailboxes and domains. The page lists custom domains and email accounts as an add-on from $6.00 a month per email account. Your own Google or Microsoft mailboxes are a separate bill; see the cheapest cold email stack.
  • More connected email accounts than your plan allows: listed from $10 a month per email account.
  • Extra credits. Credit packs are listed as an add-on on paid plans. The pricing page doesn't show their price.
  • The Data Platform. API-only access to Hunter's data is a separate product, priced by the number of credits you choose.

When should you skip each plan?

  • Hunter overall: skip it if you need phone numbers with your emails. Its pricing page doesn't mention them. Compare the options in the best B2B contact data provider.
  • Free: skip it for real prospecting. 50 credits is 50 emails a month, about two days of one rep's list at our house volume.
  • Starter: skip it as your sending tool if you run more than 3 inboxes. You'll pay per extra account or need Growth.
  • Growth: skip it if you only find emails and need under 2,000 a month. Starter does that for $100 a month less.
  • Scale: skip it unless you need more than 10,000 credits a month or more than 10 connected email accounts.
  • Yearly billing: skip it until you've used a full month of credits. The saving is real ($180 a year on Starter), but only if you'll still be using it in month twelve.

The sending days, sends per inbox, inboxes per rep and touches per contact on this page are our house assumptions, with one line on why we use each.
