How do the plans compare?

Both sell unlimited email accounts with no per-mailbox fee, and both tier by contacts and monthly sends.

Both vendors also sell larger plans. Saleshandy Scale is $189 a month ($149 billed yearly) for 200,000 emails and unlimited users and prospects. Smartlead's Unlimited Smart is $174 ($144.50 billed yearly) for 150,000 sends and unlimited contacts. Smartlead's top plan, Unlimited Prime, is $379 ($314.60 billed yearly) for 500,000 sends. Both run a free trial with no card; Saleshandy's is 7 days and caps trial sending at 100 emails.

Two things to know. Smartlead rounds its yearly prices on the page to $32, $78, $144 and $315; we use the exact figures from its pricing data. And Smartlead's 2,000 verified emails on Base are a $59 a month add-on, so the plan price doesn't include verification.

What does it cost for one rep and for three?

Our house setup: 4 inboxes per rep, about 30 sends per inbox a day (our guideline), 21 sending days, 5 touches. That's 504 new prospects a month for one rep (4 × 30 × 21 ÷ 5) and 1,512 for three. Emails a month are prospects × 5.

Setup Emails a month Saleshandy Smartlead
1 rep 2,520 Starter: $41 monthly, $34 yearly Base: $39 monthly, $32.50 yearly
3 reps 7,560 Pro: $99 monthly, $76 yearly Pro: $94 monthly, $78.30 yearly

That's our math. One rep fits under the 6,000-email cap on both entry plans. Three reps go past it, so both need the Pro tier. Over a year at yearly billing, one rep pays $408 on Saleshandy against $390 on Smartlead, while three reps pay $912 against $939.60, so Saleshandy saves $27.60. On monthly billing Smartlead is $5 a month cheaper at the Pro tier.

Both tools suit the same plan from our best cold email software page, and you can see how each stacks up against Instantly and lemlist in Instantly vs Smartlead vs lemlist.

What do the mailboxes cost?

Both sell mailboxes and domains as add-ons, and this is where the bills split.

Add-on Saleshandy Email Infrastructure Smartlead SmartSenders (Google, new)
Mailbox (Google Workspace tab) $2.99 a month on Annual Fixed (no mailbox swaps); $3.49 on Annual Flexi (25-mailbox minimum); $3.99 on Quarterly $4.50 a month
Domain $14 a year, up to 5 mailboxes per domain $13 a year

Our math for three reps: 12 mailboxes on 6 domains (two per domain, our rule). Saleshandy at $2.99 is $35.88 a month plus $84 a year for domains, about $42.88 a month. Smartlead at $4.50 is $54 a month plus $78 a year, about $60.50 a month. Add the plan price and the three-rep bill is about $118.88 a month on Saleshandy yearly and $138.80 on Smartlead yearly.

Before you compare, check what kind of mailbox each add-on delivers. Our baseline in the cheapest cold email stack is a Google Workspace mailbox bought straight from Google, and a reseller's mailbox may come with different terms, such as no swaps on Saleshandy's Annual Fixed option. Smartlead also sells pre-warmed Google mailboxes at $18 a domain a year plus $9 a mailbox a month.

What do you get that the other lacks?

  • Saleshandy: a built-in Lead Finder with 852M+ contacts (vendor claim). One credit buys a verified email, 6 credits a verified phone, 7 both. Starter includes 1,500 credits a month and Pro 4,000. Unverified emails cost nothing. It also lists sender rotation across 10, 100 or 1,000 accounts by plan.
  • Smartlead: an inbox placement add-on called SmartDelivery, from $49 a month for 120 tests across up to 50 sender accounts. Client workspaces are a $29 a month add-on each on Pro, which matters for agencies. Plans above Pro move to bigger warmup pools and a customer success manager.

When should you skip each tool?

  • Saleshandy: skip Starter if you add a CRM, because the Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Zoho and Zapier integrations start at Pro. Skip its mailbox add-on if you want to swap mailboxes but run fewer than 25: the $2.99 and $3.99 options allow no replacement, and the flexible $3.49 option has a 25-mailbox minimum.
  • Smartlead: skip Base if you need a CRM connection or API access, which start at Pro. Skip it if you plan to verify lists inside the tool, since 2,000 verified emails cost an extra $59 a month on Base.
  • Both: skip either one if you run more than about 90,000 sends a month on Smartlead Pro or 100,000 on Saleshandy Pro. Each moves you to a plan costing roughly double.

Which one has better email warmup?
